Virginia Beach is one of the top exciting vacations in the world. Virginia Beach, Virginia is located on the beaches of the Atlantic Ocean and Chesapeake. There are nearly a half million people in Virginia Beach, making it the most populated city in the Commonwealth of Virginia. Given the popularity, there are plenty of places to stay for all ages and interests. Virginia Beach is a legendary summer spot for kids and adults alike.

Virginia Beach has all the elements of a classic seaside resort: gorgeous beaches, a lively boardwalk, plenty of restaurants and nightspots, and amusement rides sure to appeal to kids. Wether it is a summer vacation, family reunion, holiday gathering or weekend getaway, there are plenty activities in the Virginia Beach like golfing, fishing, kayaking, hiking, biking, birding, surfing, tennis, wine tasting, shopping, museums and galleries. Sports enthusiasts will find celebrated golf courses in nearby towns, as well as sea kayaking and miles of hiking trails. Many believe Virginia Beach is at its best in the off-season, when the town is less crowded but the weather is still mild.

There are events planned during every month of the year, and two of the more exciting ones are the Neptune Festival in September and the Nautical Christmas Light Display over the holidays. If you make the Virginia Beach as your next vacation, be sure to see some of the local attractions, such as, the Old Cape Henry Lighthouse, Virginia Aquarium & Marine Science Center, The Sandbridge Pier, First Landing State Park, Ocean Breeze Water Park, Lynnhaven House, and The Old Coast Guard Station. Sand sculpting contests, music festivals, parades, arts and craft shows are always something happening in Virginia Beach, either on the beach or at the convention centre.

Virginia Beach is also a perfect place for family that draws families looking for fun with its miles of sandy beach and oceanfront boardwalk. Free seasonal events, kid-friendly attractions, and plenty of state parks have made regulars out of many vacationers.

There are a lot of the Virginia Beach accommodations offering condominiums, comfortable beach cottages, and grand beach homes for the discriminating vacationer with full-featured resort facilities.  Pet friendly and handicapped options are also available. There are many different types of lodgings to choose from when staying in the Virginia Beach area. Picking the right one can make sure that your turns out just the way you wanted.
